How Does Coaching Work?
Coaching is a collaborative relationship that offers clients strategies for positive change in a nonjudgemental, supportive environment. Together, we create new behaviors to successfully manage the ADHD challenges in your life. If you're feeling frustrated, overwhelmed or stuck, then coaching can help you.
Parents and Families
Parenting a child with ADHD is full of challenges. I know from first hand experience that having a child with ADHD affects the entire family. Parenting Strategy Sessions are designed to help you help your student. Each session will provide you with tools and support so they can manage their daily demands and increase long-term independence. Parent sessions are particularly effective for families in which the student is not ready to commit to coaching.
Parent Strategy Sessions can help in the following areas:
Understanding what ADHD and Executive Skills are and how they affect your child.
Introducing new ways to communicate with your child to reduce conflict.
Helping your child set goals, actions and rewards.
Learning new parenting skills to empower vs. enable your child.
Implementing strategies to help your student manage homework.
Providing resources specific to ADHD
